The New Year!!!!!!

Well, here it is the first of the new year. We made it past the Zombie apocalypse on December 21 and the holidays. Now I need to post my projects I completed last year.

These are just some of my baby hats I made. More to follow.....

Hats and other things

Since my last post, my darling granddaughter has been born. She was a whopping 10 lb. baby!!! This is a good thing as I never could get my crocheted baby hats to be small enough for a newborn.

So after I got done making hats and booties, I moved onto more challenging items. Toys!!!!
I fell in love with Amigurumi patterns. The only problem I have been having is that although the patterns are free, I cannot sell any toys that I make from the patterns. So, I have been attempting to design my own and are currently working on that. Here are some pics for the toys I have made and of course, given away.

I'm beginning to think that everyone that comes into our house needs to take a toy home with them, lol. The main point of all of this is that I am really enjoying the crocheting. Between this at night and the garden during the day, there is absolutely no time to get an outside job!!!!!

Grandbabies

I wonder sometimes if I could be more excited than my Darling-Daughter-In-Law about this up-coming child, and then I talk to her and I know that I don't even come close.

I have been making burp clothes. What a wild concept this is! I used to just throw a diaper over my shoulder and call it good. These burp clothes are wonderful.

I got hooked into Pinterest, by my bestie friend Starla, and I have found so many wonderful patterns to try out for my grandbaby, that is due in March. I have been working on a taggie quilt today. I had to rip it out 3 times!!!! grrrr. I am a beginner seamstress so without instructions, I'm pretty lost. It is turning out pretty cute, after I figured it out, lol. You know this girl thing is pretty new to me, as I had 4 boys. I think I can get excited, like I need a reason?

De Molay

I am an advisor for our local chapter of De Molay. It is a young men's organization affiliated with the Masonic Lodge. It is a wonderful organization that helps young men to learn belief in God, patriotism to our country and respect for family and friends. We were represented in the 4th of July parade in Ferndale, by my son carrying our banner on the parade route. My friend Starla, ReFashioned Threads, helped me make this banner for the boys. Thanks Starla, we have gotten lots of compliments.

Welcome

Welcome to my musings. I am hoping that by blogging, I can get all of the clutter out of my brain, organize it and accomplish what I need to get done.

I really would love to just play in my sewing room all day, and night. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in a day to get everything done.

You know it's a good thing that JoAnn's is located 30 miles away, or I'd be there all the time and still not have time to play.

I am a Christian married woman with four boys. They are aged 33 to 13. I am unemployed at the moment, but actively looking for work.

I will be posting pictures of my recent projects. We shall see where this leads.
